Terms of use

These terms apply when you use HostTab, a bookings, payments and cleaning app for short-stay hosts. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use HostTab.

Your account

• You need an account to use HostTab. Keep your sign-in details and quick-unlock PIN private.
• You are responsible for what is recorded in your account, including by co-hosts you invite.
• As the account owner you decide who to invite as a co-host, and you can remove them at any time.

Free trial and passes

• New accounts get a 7-day free trial with every feature included. A creator's code can give a longer trial; the creator's page and the app show its length.
• After the trial, you need a pass to keep using HostTab. Passes last 30, 90, 180 or 365 days and are priced in Kenya shillings as shown on our website and in the app.
• A pass covers your main property. Each extra property is added for the same dates as your pass, at the prices shown on our website and in the app. Extra properties are included during the free trial.
• You pay for a pass by M-Pesa in the app. With Pay now, the pass is switched on as soon as M-Pesa confirms the payment. If you send the payment yourself, we switch the pass on once we have checked your M-Pesa message; if we send you a license key instead, you enter it in the app.
• If you buy a pass during your trial, your remaining trial days are added on top of the pass.
• Passes do not renew automatically. You are only charged when you choose to buy one.
• When a trial or pass ends, you can keep editing for 48 hours. After that your records stay available to view and export, and editing starts again when you buy a pass.
• If a payment does not switch your pass on, message us on WhatsApp with your M-Pesa confirmation code and we will sort it out.

Creator codes

If you sign up with a creator's code, the creator who introduced you may earn a fee from us when you buy a pass, for up to 12 months after your first pass. This does not change the price you pay, and the creator cannot see your records.

Your records

• The bookings, guest details, payments and expenses you enter belong to you.
• Each account's records are kept separate and are never shared with other hosts.
• You can back up your records and export them to a spreadsheet from Settings at any time.
• When you record guest details, such as names and phone numbers, you are responsible for having a proper reason to keep them and for treating them with care.

Acceptable use

Use HostTab only to manage your own short-stay business. Do not try to access another host's account, interfere with the service, or use it for anything unlawful.

Availability

We work to keep HostTab running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own backups of important records. HostTab is a record-keeping tool and does not replace professional accounting or tax advice.

Changes and ending your use

• We may update HostTab and these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you on WhatsApp before it takes effect.
• You can stop using HostTab at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
